Himmapan, a mythical forest believed to connect heaven and earth is a mystical land on the top of a rugged mountain towering high into the sky. It is beautiful, and expansive and is the dwelling place of guardian angels, humans with supernatural abilities, and weird and bizarre animals. Artists from the past created art inspired by Himmapan forest, which appeared in both paintings and sculptures in temples. Contemporary artists inspired by Himmapan forest also create art toys for younger generations.

Recently, pictures of Himmapan animal sculptures by local artisans at temples in Thailand were shared on social media. They are sculptures whose shapes are out of proportion, and whose details have been toned down not in accordance with the traditions of the royal technicians in the royal court but relying on dedication and faith. Although they might look like sculptures made by people lacking knowledge of art, their naive simplicities turned out to be adorable. Some pieces look like cartoons that will make people smile whenever they look at them. The popularity went viral with #ุ´มà_าà_à¸__มารà_à¸__มลà¹_¸¥à¹ (#himmapanmarshmallow)

Mo, Komkrit Tepthian, lecturer at the Department of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, Art, and Design, King Mongkut__ Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, and the founder of MOTMO STUDIO was one of the people who brought the Himmapan Marshmallow trend to the public with the intention of inheriting traditional knowledge by applying through art toys. The Himmapan wildlife art toys have brought fun, joy, and colors to the art community.

OHM and Mo-Komkrit chose these mythical creatures to design a bead collection -Himmapan Marshmallow and captured their uniqueness under Be You Be OHM concept with the goal of taking local artisans_ works to international audiences.

These Himmapan creatures are guardians protecting sacred religious sites. They generally can be seen in front of or at the gates and entrances around the temples. Each has unique features that are instantly recognizable. They come in special packaging inspired by the beauty of Himmapan forest. When collected together they will complement each other and make the story more interesting.
